Trojan - Overcoming Fitness Challenges

Commit To Be Fit By Overcoming These 4 Common Fitness Challenges.

Do you get all gung ho about a new exercise regimen, then find yourself slacking off and finding excuses to take a break? Sticking to a regular exercise schedule isn’t easy and creating a weekly workout plan is only half the battle. Not only does it take time to do it, but you have to have the right clothes, coordinate the activity, exert energy and shower afterwards – to most people, the whole experience just seems like a major hassle.

There are plenty of potential hindrances, such as time, boredom, injuries, self-confidence… But for the purpose of this blog, we’ll focus on the most common challenges.

  1. You’re too tired!

Actually, without exercise, you’ll have no energy… It’s purely a cycle. Break it by setting your first goal – getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night. Then try a morning dose of exercise; get up 30 minutes earlier, hop on the treadmill while you listen to the radio or watch the morning news.

Don’t start a fitness program because you’re too sleep-deprived to benefit from it. When we don’t sleep enough, we’re more prone to illness and injury, and our hunger and satisfaction cues for eating are all messed up.

  1. You don’t have time…

Can’t figure out how to clear the time for the hour of exercise you usually do? Setting aside time to exercise can be a challenge. But it doesn’t have to be an hour… Working out intensely for 20 minutes is the equivalent of 40 minutes of moderate exercise.

Be creative! Squeeze in short walks throughout the day ‘coz any amount of activity is better than none at all. Drive less and walk more by parking in the back row of the parking lot or even a few blocks away and walk to your destination.

  1. You feel ‘oh-so-awkward’.

Don’t get down on yourself! Even in front of family… It’s a mindset, really. Remind yourself constantly that you’re improving your cardiovascular health, or focus on how much stronger you feel after a workout.

Our tip: As long as you can practice consistency, stay disciplined and continuously persevere towards incorporating excitement as part of your fitness routine, you will be well on your way towards achieving all the goals you have set come year-end!

  1. Exercise isn’t fun.

Oh, but it could be… Try something new! Reasons for you feeling this way could be that a workout could not challenge your body how you wanted it to, or it could be because a workout was too rigorous, thus resulting in you being unable to handle the physical demands of an exercise.

One effective way to break free from these physical challenges would be to open up to try new workouts. Leave the monotonous workouts behind by incorporating a fitness routine that gives you a reason to get up and move. Perhaps work out a dance-inspired routine for yourself combine dance and music in a fusion of moves you can easily execute on a Trojan aerobic mat.

Just ensure that it’s a full-body workout that will increase your heart rate, burn calories, improve cardiovascular strength and increase your stamina! Good luck!
